A year in the life of Extend Robotics 2025

As we reach the end of 2025 and look ahead to the festive season, it feels like the perfect moment to pause, reflect and celebrate what has been an extraordinary year for Extend Robotics. From groundbreaking collaborations and global events to industry recognition and product innovation, 2025 has been a year of momentum, growth and impact.

Building the future through software and partnerships

Innovation has been at the heart of everything we’ve done this year. We continued to evolve our software capabilities while partnering with some truly inspiring organisations across robotics, manufacturing and research.

Working with NVIDIA has been a key highlight, advancing how intelligent machines are integrated into the physical world and scaling the safe deployment of robotics in manufacturing environments.

We were proud to demonstrate our technology at the SenseGlove R1 launch event, showcasing the Extend Robotics integration, and to partner with RealMan Robotics to provide access to a powerful, ready-to-integrate automation platform. Our collaboration with Imperial College London’s Robot Intelligence Lab, alongside UFACTORY, allowed us to explore how haptic feedback, the sense of touch, can help robots learn and interact more like humans.

Taking Extend Robotics on the road

2025 saw Extend Robotics exhibiting and presenting at events across the UK, Europe and beyond. We showcased our intuitive control software and immersive interfaces at the Humanoids Summit 2025 in London, and our XR-enabled teleoperation platform at Cambridge Tech Week, where it was described as “eye-catching” by the Cambridge Independent.

Our team also presented at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, participated in the Innovate UK Farming Innovation Programme at the University of Lincoln, and joined conversations around digital innovation, AI and robotics at Digi, AI & Cyber Day in Frankfurt. We were also delighted to take part in the Agri-Open Core Project showcase, highlighting the future of agri-tech and horticultural innovation in the UK.

Recognition and industry impact

This year brought welcome recognition for our work. We accepted a Bronze Award at the Design Intelligence Awards for our contribution to Embodied AI and flexible software architecture. We were also shortlisted for The Engineer’s 2025 Collaborate To Innovate (C2I) Awards alongside the Centre for Advanced Robotics at Queen Mary University of London and Saffron Grange Vineyard.

Our work with Saffron Grange Vineyard, redefined what’s possible on the modern farm, with robotics helping ensure farming remains viable for the next generation, attracting younger, tech-driven talent while maintaining the care and quality that define British produce.

On the international stage, Extend Robotics was voted second prize in the UK division of a global entrepreneurial competition, and we were proud to be mentioned by both TechJournal UK and NVIDIA as a UK company transforming how industries operate.

Thought leadership and global collaboration

Our leadership team played an active role in shaping industry conversations throughout the year.

Our founder and CEO, Chang Liu, spoke at multiple events, including the Humanoids Summit in London, where he showcased Avatar, our dexterous humanoid robot, powered by AMAS, our immersive and intuitive VR software. We were also pleased to support the European Space Agency (ESA) in making space robotics more accessible.

Sales Director, Azmat Hossain, spoke at Immers-eXpo 2025 at Jesus College Oxford and contributed to discussions on “Shaping the Future with Intelligence and Connectivity” at Cambridge Wireless.

Beyond events, we partnered with Leyland Trucks and PACCAR to trial our XR human-robot interface on a humanoid robot in truck manufacturing facilities, demonstrating real-world industrial impact.

Looking ahead

This year we joined the 7th cohort of Grow London Global and headed to GTC Paris to spotlight an incredible lineup of UK-based startups from the NVIDIA Inception programme, a fitting way to round off a year defined by collaboration and ambition.

As the holiday season approaches, we’d like to thank our customers, partners, friends and supporters for being part of our journey. We wish you a fantastic holiday break and look forward to even more innovation, collaboration and progress in 2026.

Here’s to what comes next!
